Upcoming Events

Happy Spring!  I’ve just returned from a very successful residency in France with Jonah Bokaer, and wanted to send you a quick note to let you know about some upcoming events.  Here are the highlights, with more detailed information below.

EMERGENCY INDEX 2011 ~ The Launch Party

The Kitchen, 7 – 9pm Tuesday March 20, 2012

A series I organized and participated in called Inside Lives is being chronicled as part of the Emergency Index 2011 and on Tuesday, March 20th, we celebrate the book launch at The Kitchen.   It will be a free event, and will feature performances by 5 INDEX contributors: Marilyn Arsem (performance art), Joyce Cho & Machiqq (playwriting collective), Lindsey Drury (dance), Allie Avital Tsypin and Gabrielle Herbst (hybrid theater), and Ariel Goldberg (photography/text). See attached flier for more information and stay tuned for the video release.

MARS (a play about mining)

Dixon Place, 9-11:30 Saturday March 24

Come check out this works-in-progress showing of a new work by the green theater company SuperHero ClubHouse.  I assisted with the choreography of this production, and will also be performing in it.  9pm: have a drink with us in DP’s superb lobby bar, 10:30pm: PERFORMANCE (run time approx. 45min)

ON THE BEACH

Baryshnikov Arts Center, 8pm April 5-7

Inspired by the seminal opera Einstein on the Beach by Philip Glass and Robert Wilson, celebrating its 35th anniversary, The Watermill Center creates a new work.  Five groups of emerging artists interpret sections of this 20th century masterpiece under the curation of Wilson.  I will be performing as part of Jonah Bokaer’s contribution.

Cynthia Hedstrom very graciously included me in a series of interviews with choreographers working in film and video.  The article includes some great photos of Match Box Dances taken by Michael Hart.
